APPLICATION OF THE LAW OF PERCOLATION THEORY IN THE SELECTION OF WATERPROOF CONCRETE STRUCTURE

Abstract
Percolation theory (percolation) determines the behavior of a large number of items related to each other. The size and type of links of elements is random. Waterproofing is explained by the specific structure of concrete, which, as is known, is composed of cement, sand and gravel (crushed). Availability of a large number of air pores causes its permeability, which depends not only on the number of pores, but to a greater extent on their shape and nature, and the ratio of starting materials, the selection of the composition of the concrete mix and a method of installation. Research is conducted to improve the water resistance of concrete. The objective of this work was the experimental determination of the percolation thresholds for concrete with different brands on water resistance. This will allow the selection of concrete to determine the porosity and thus know whether the requirements for water resistance are met.
