Abstract

The architecture of Catholic churches XVII – XIX centuries is an important making history of Belarus, reflects uniqueness of domestic culture, and causes constant interest in a society. In cities of modern Belarus there is a considerable quantity of cult constructions the special place among which belongs to churches of Catholic Church. Churches XVII – XIX centuries were erected mainly in the western cities, it is necessary to note scale of building and complexity of a volume-spatial composition of buildings. As a result of the analysis and an estimation of architecture of churches of Belarus XVII – XIX centuries their features have been revealed and according to a volume-spatial composition of buildings classification is made. The analysis of architecture of cult constructions is necessary for attraction of results of research work at erection of new objects, reconstruction and adaptation of existing structures in the new town-planning environment. In the course of modernization of the historical centres of cities it is important to provide preservation of a cult heritage. Exact historical data and the similar analytical researches made for the organizations on protection of historical and cultural values and management by architectural and town-planning activity, designers are necessary.
