Abstract

The article presents the results of the analysis of changes in territories that are bordering to the boundaries of ad-ministrative-territorial units. Conclusions are drawn about the need to timely take into account the ongoing changes in the elements of the natural and ecological framework, as well as types of land that are actively transforming under the influ-ence of anthropogenic factors. The automation of land contour recognition in border areas by means of geographic in-formation systems is proposed. A quantitative assessment of changes in the natural environment objects of border areas is proposed, on the basis of which conclusions are drawn about the need to reduce the interval for adjusting the spatial position of the boundaries of administrative-territorial units.
