SORPTION PROPERTIES AND PERFORMANCE CHARACTERISTICS OF COAL FIBROUS MATERIALS

Abstract
The paper presents the results of the analysis of treatment facilities of industrial oily waste water. It is shown that the main problem occurs at the node of physico-chemical treatment, in particular using low-active filtering materials in relative to oil-products. The best filter materials are carbon sorbents, and the Republic of Belarus is a major producer of carbon fibers. The results of determination of the sorption properties and performance characteristics of carbon fibrous materials are presented, such as oil intensity, filtration rate dependence on the layer thickness and hydraulic pressure in front of it, as well as the degree of model waste water purification by oil-products. A comparative analysis of oil capacity of the studied sorption materials which are industrially produced in the CIS countries are presented.
