STABILITY OF SLOPES AND HILLSIDES STRENGTHENED WITH GEOTEXTILES

Abstract
The issue of using geotextiles for strengthening of slopes and hillsides is considered. The object of the study is the sloping surface of the earth (a slope or a hillside) and evaluation of the stability of a slope or a hillside. Analysis of the degree of real soil stability has been based on the most typical soils for the Republic of Belarus. Method of analyzing the stability of the holding cover of the slope or the hillside is introduced. The calculations have shown that for the slopes, on which non-woven fabric as the holding cover was used, the stability rate would increase in comparison with the slopes without such material other conditions being equal.
