UTILIZATION OF DATA CENTER HEAT FOR GAS SUPPLY FACILITIES

Abstract

The reliability of the gas supply system for various types of facilities depends significantly on the reliable operation of all elements of the gas distribution units located in gas distribution stations (GDS), which are primarily designed to reduce the pressure (reduction) to the required level, depending on the purpose of the GDS. Reduction requires significant energy consumption, including the use of thermal energy to heat the gas. Currently, significant computational resources are required, which are provided by data processing centers (DPCs) or data centers, which are significant sources of thermal emissions into the atmosphere. The results of numerical modeling of the data center's thermal regime confirm the high values of indoor air temperature. Various options for using the data center's waste heat are known. This paper proposes the utilization of the data center's heat for use in the GDS process using expander-generator units.
