Abstract
The article presents the results of field studies of the second floor of the former Bristol Hotel building. Using wall probes and later completely removing the plaster from the building's load-bearing walls, the researcher traced a series of large-scale renovations within the building that were related to its conversion into apartments. During the work carried out, the remains of the original doorways were traced. Additionally, thanks to the available photographs of Polotsk from the early 20th century, it became possible to determine the time of construction of the building and identify a number of its lost architectural elements (a broken roof with an attic floor and tent-shaped corners), which explain the architectural design of its main facades facing the corner of Voznesenskaya/Sako i Vantsetti/Lenina streets and Spasskaya/Sovetskaya streets.
