Abstract
The article discusses a method of geodetic construction control that ensures a high degree of automation, accuracy, and efficiency by integrating terrestrial laser scanning data, BIM models, and artificial intelligence algorithms. Since a successful BIM model requires the ability to correctly exchange information with various specialists working on the same project across different software products at all stages of the model’s lifecycle, it is essential to be able to work within an open and neutral software environment. The article demonstrates how the Industry Foundation Classes (IFC) file format can be used for these purposes, as it enables the creation of a structured digital model of a construction facility, serving as its virtual prototype with encoded information about its physical and functional characteristics.
