EXERGY METHOD FOR EVALUATING THE OPERATION OF A DRYING PLANT

Abstract
The results theoretical studies of the operating modes of a steam drying plant for drying a construction impregnated reinforced glass mesh are presented. It is shown that the actual consumption of heating steam for the installation is 1.5-2 times higher than the theoretical one determined by the methods of compiling the heat balance. This is confirmed by the exergy calculation, the method of implementation of which is given in the article. The results of theoretical studies are confirmed by the practice of operating a unit equipped with an automatic heating steam supply control system. It is shown that the value of thermal exergy of steam supplied to the installation completely determines the technical and economic characteristics of its operation, due to irrecoverable heat losses. The greater the value the thermal exergy of the heating steam supplied to the installation, the lower the loss of thermal energy. At the same time, it is noted that the selected steam of a heat source of different pressures has the same cost, regardless of the exergy available. Methods for increasing the efficiency of this type of installations are proposed.
