METHOD FOR DETECTION OF WEAK HARMONIC SIGNAL IN GAUSSIAN NOISE

Abstract

A method for detection of weak harmonic signals in the channel of news leak is proposed. Harmonic signal has several advantages for the estimation of parameters in the channel of news leak. The aim is to find a harmonic signal in the noise of high level. Detection of a harmonic signal is provided by its modelling in an additive mixture with white Gaussian noise. The analysis and comparison of known and proposed methods are made. On the basis of the analysis of calculation of zeros method a special method for the detection of weak harmonic signals in Gaussian noise is proposed by the authors, which has broadband response and speed of operation, high sensitivity when sorting out several harmonic signals at the same time. The proposed method allows to accumulate signal for its subsequent detection without any a priori information about a period of a signal succession, which is an advantage if to compare with the methods of accumulating of a signal in devices with delay and feedback. The results for each method were compared on the basis of model experiments and analysis of the results presented in the papers observed in the article. According to the results of comparison a conclusion is made that a spectral method for extraction of weak signal from noise is preferable.
