Abstract

Based on the material of V. Adamchik's tetralogy, social stereotypes associated with the arrival of Soviet power in Western Belarus in the pre-war period are considered. The novels reflect the manifestations of the Soviet, which mark life on the border at this time. The writer reveals the problems of the perception of Soviet power by the local population, interaction with it through the prism of the language issue, hopes and disillusionment with social policy, the manifestation of formalism and speculativeness of Soviet leaders. Reinterpretation of this stage in the history of Belarusians V. Adamchik shows from the position of a peasant, his daily life, attitude to the redistribution of land and property. An excursion into recent history allowed the writer to draw parallels with what is happening, to reveal the ambiguity of socio-political and cultural-economic transformations of any government for a Belarusian peasant. The analysis of the material allows us to conclude about the writer's position: destroyed destinies, collectivization, exile and repression are the price paid by the Belarusian people to the Savets authorities. The perspective of rethinking the Soviet social stereotypes presented in the tetralogy expands the subject of ethno-national discourse, and is relevant today.
