Abstract
The article analyzes the narrative features of the novel «The Fallen Leaves» by W. Collins. This work is notable for its autobiographical context, sharp criticism of the moral character of Victorian society and the political structure of the country. A special place in the novel is given to the main character, through whom the author compares the utopian place of the Tadmor community and London’s way of life and moral values. In the novel, it can be found a number of features that are uncharacteristic for Collins’s earlier works like the structure of the work, the introduction of new images and problems, criticism of the middle class and society as a whole for unwillingness to change the socio-political situation.
