SEMI-PREFIXAL VERBS WITH THE AN- COMPONENT AND THEIR NON-SINGLE-WORD CORRELATIONS IN THE GERMAN LANGUAGE

Abstract
This article is devoted to the problem of allocation of word combinations which are communicatively equivalent to derived verbs with the an-semi-prefix. The given combinations are analyzed through the "prism" of the theory of nominative derivation. The systemic relations are established between the derivational meanings of derived verbs and word combinations. Lexical units that can fulfill a derivational function as is evidenced from their regularity and semantic correspondence to the word-forming affix have been allocated in the structure of word combinations. Alongside with derivative word combinations in the nominative set verb-noun word combinations with functional verbs and structures ‘an etw. + derivative verb’ are examined, since they can be discrete verbs and are a means of expressing derivational semantics. Attention to the analytical means of expressing word-building meanings allows us to assess the potential of word-building means in the language.
