THE DERIVATIONAL POTENTIAL OF PREFIXATION IN VARIOUS FUNCTIONAL FORMS OF EXISTENCE OF THE RUSSIAN LANGUAGE

Abstract

The study of various language strata as variations of a single invariant structure in a comparative aspect makes it possible to identify national-specific features of certain social strata of society in their full detail, which determines the relevance of the chosen topic. The article is devoted to describing the derivational potential of prefixation in the literary, professional, slang and dialect forms of the functioning of the Russian language. The work's author highlights the main factors influencing word-formation processes: the absence/presence of a norm, the degree of relevance of a potential unit for a native speaker, a characteristic of the communicative space. The article presents a diagram based on a comparative analysis of the verbal vertices of prefix paradigms from various language subsystems in their quantitative and lexico-semantic correspondence. In the absence of a linguistic correlate for the studied generating lexeme, the article's author focused on verbs from one LSG. The comparative analysis resulted in an inverted trapezoid reflecting the position of each of the studied subcodes in terms of increasing activity of word-formation processes: professional vocabulary, dialects, literary language, slang.
