SPEECH ACTS ASKING FOR REPETITIONS THROUGH GENDER PERSPECTIVE

Main Article Content

M. POUTROVA

Abstract

The article claims that speech acts asking for repetition have their distinct illocution which consists in specifying what has been said. This illocution distinguishes them from other types of repetitions as well as from all varieties of speech acts that come up in authentic communication. The article outlines gender specific features of the speech acts and claims that it is important to describe them from the perspective of tendencies in the usage of language.
