Abstract

The article dwells upon the analysis of the romantic wandering imagery and focuses on its meditative variant. The analysis is based on some particular poems by W. Wordsworth, S.T. Coleridge, R. Southey, “lake school poets”. Different types of meditative wandering are subject to research: a walk, a boat trip ( lake or river), mental travel. The article systematizes the key elements of setting and space of the walk (a mountain, a flower, a tree) and the boat trip (a lake). The basic elements of home space as the beginning and the end point of the journey are pointed out.
