LANGUAGE, SPACE AND GENDER

Abstract
The departure point of the article is the claim that the conception of space fixed in a language world view is a matrix that is interactive with the gender identity of the speaking or writing subject. We claim that diminutives are one of the effective means of organizing hidden proxemic or distance dimensions of space through gender perspective. Very distinctive among them are rare diminutives, especially those that combine opposing ideas of largeness and littleness in one word or verbal formation.
