Abstract
The article is devoted to the nowadays topical problem: the human identity. The authors consider some philosophical aspects of the human indentity in modern poetry. The human being, his thinking, his views of the world as a whole, becomes the leading topic of the Azerbaijan poetry. Various genres of poetry are analyzed, one of which is beit (bayati). The authors present the samples created in the genre of beit. The thoughts and feelings of a person, the affection to the native land, love and beauty are praised. The considerable attention is paid in the article to the role of poetry in the formation of man as a personality.
