AESTHETIC EVALUATION AS A MEANS OF EXPRESSING APPROVAL AND DISAPPROVAL: LINGUISTIC REPRESENTATION (ON THE EXAMPLE OF RUSSIAN PREDICATES)

Abstract
The article is devoted to the issue of expressing approval and disapproval through Russian predicates of aesthetic evaluation. Such concepts as "evaluation", "approval", "disapproval", “partial evaluation” are interpreted. It describes the features of aesthetic evaluation, its structure, motivation, etc. 209 aesthetic predicates are selected from Russian-language dictionaries by the method of continuous sampling. The predicates make up the lexical-semantic field, divided into microfields: a person, a body part, an object, clothes, a phenomenon, etc. The interaction of aesthetic evaluation with other types of partial evaluation (ethical, hedonistic, intellectual, teleological and so on) is substantiated. The expression of approval and disapproval is carried out through the meanings of lexical and semantic variants, fixed in dictionary definitions and often marked with usage labels. Semantic features of aesthetic predicates expressing approval and disapproval are described, and a list of identifying words which qualify them is determined.
