Abstract

The Belarusian Lake District is distinguished by its cultural and historical significance, special elements of national thinking, as well as a formed cultural field with a lot of talented artists. The article explores the features of the use of precedent names as a component of the names of paintings. The sources of precedent names are defined: Art, History, Society and Religion, their quantitative and qualitative characteristics are given. The study leads to the conclusion that artionymy is a special layer of onyma, reflecting the national and cultural specifics of the consciousness of the inhabitants of the region. There is also a preferential appeal to the national precedent units.
