Abstract
Analyzes the social novel writer and journalist, born in Minsk Region, E.T. Massalsky (1799–1879) “Пан Подстолич” (“Pan Podstolic, albo czym jesteśmy, czym być możemy”) (1831–1833). Operating strategies considered serfs Belarus first half of the nineteenth century (any increase in the volume of work on serfdom, the use of peasant stock and cattle when working on the corvee, the removal of excess products, pay for work of alcohol, compulsion to use paid services manorial mills, overstating the value of services, forcing to early marriage, saving on construction of peasant property, restriction of mobility of the peasants). Identified ideological premises (Sarmatian ideology) formation characteristics of the Polish economic system of serfdom in the Belarusian lands.
