SPECIFIC PERCEPTIONS OF INFORMAL FORMS OF PERSONAL NAMES BY THE INHABITANTS OF THE BELARUSIAN LAKE DISTRICT

Abstract

The publication is devoted to the determining the cause of rejection of informal forms of personal names by the inhabitants of the Belarusian Lakeland settlements. Anthroponyms are identified, from which most unac-ceptable modifiers, the basic structural and semantic types and pejoratives models in their quantitative ratio are often produced, as well as socio-linguistic and pragmatic basis for their use is specified. The cartographic description of the functioning of derivatives of personal names with the finale “ka” is given. Noting the relevant regions of the active functioning of the most negatively perceived “ka”-forms and areas of fixation of dialect groups of dialects in the study area. The main reasons for seeking to change the name of the inhabitants of the region and the role of perceived negatively modifiers of antroponyms are defined, as well as the ratio of positive, neutral, and negative reactions of the addressing with deminutiva in conditions of distant acquaintance, regarding the object and subject of evaluation.
