Abstract
The problem of a collective hero in the book “I am from the Fiery Village …” by A. Adamovich, V. Kolesnik, Ya. Bryl is considered in the article. The attention is paid to the fact that the whole gallery of characters, inhabitants of the Belarusian villages giving an idea of life on the occupied territory instead of the traditional hero reveals in this work. There is no hero shown with the characteristic dialectics for realistic literature of its development. The main character of the book is the ordinary people. In the book “I am from the Fiery Village…” the main character acts as a unit, consisting of the sum of individuals. In spite of the fact that the basis of this work was formed by more than three hundred confessions, each person is allocated with his / her individual traits and tells his / her own tragic story.
