THE MODERNIST WORLDVIEW IN E. HEMINGWAY’S NOVEL «A FAREWELL TO ARMS»

Abstract
The article examines the formal and content aspects of E. Hemingway’s novel “A Farewell to Arms”, which complementarily contribute to the artistic comprehension of the axiological crisis, reflecting the modernist worldview of the era. Special attention is given to the experimental dimension of the text, manifested in linguistic minimalism (the “iceberg theory”), prominent suggestiveness, and the author’s emphasis on the alienation of reality. The reader as interpreter of the author's text is given an active co-creative role.
