NARRATIVE VOICE AS A METAPHYSICAL CATEGORY IN E.G. VODOLAZKIN’S NOVEL «SOLOVYOV AND LARIONOV»

Abstract
The article describes the «formal» content of the narrative voice category, which is based on the opposition of activity/passivity in the center and transitivity/intransitivity on the periphery. These semantic properties are considered as prerequisites for reflecting the narrative voice as a philosophically filled category in E. G. Vodolazkin’s novel «Solovyov and Larionov». The analysis of the motifs of doubleness and childhood in the novel suggests that in its artistic universe, the idea of polyphonic orientation towards the Other is complemented by the concept of existence in a single ideal space of substantial agents according to N. O. Lossky. Due to the fact that it is precisely the orientation towards the object-Other that is the factor determining an individual’s involvement in the substantial space, for the narrative voice as a metaphysically filled category, the indicator of transitivity/intransitivity is centered — it becomes more significant.
