LINGUOSEMIOTICS OF GENDER ARCHETYPES: FLORA AND FAUNA IN THE LINGUISTIC WORLDVIEW OF THE INDO-EUROPEANS

Abstract
The article is devoted to the linguo-semiotic analysis of gender archetypes associated with flora and fauna in the Indo-European linguistic worldview. The relevance of the study is determined by the need to reconstruct the deep layers of the Indo-European cultural code through linguistic and mythopoetic data. Based on the material of ancient texts (Hittite, Vedic, Avestan, Ancient Greek, Germanic, Slavic, etc.) and data from comparative-historical linguistics, stable models of gender conceptualization of natural objects are identified. The methodology includes etymological, textual and comparative semiotic analysis. As a result, the main floral and faunal symbols of the masculine and feminine principles are systematized, their semiotic functions in mytho-ritual practice are reconstructed, and their influence on the formation of social and gender roles is shown. It is established that the gender symbolism of plants and animals was not random but formed a coherent system rooted in the Proto-Indo-European era.
