Abstract

The article presents the results of the analysis of Russian and English phrasemes with money, payments, financial designations from the point of view of their idiomaticity and imagery. A correlation between idioms and non-idioms in the Russian and English subcorpus has been found. The semantic organization of Russian and Eng-lish financial phrasemes has been characterized. The revealed various linguistic assumptions show that the Eng-lish economic phraseology reflects more imaginative vision, talking about money, payments, financial transac-tions, while the Russian speakers are inclined to perceive finances in a stricter and more terminological way.
