Abstract
The subject of the research is the usage of the elements of Brecht‘s epic theatre in the socalled experimental play “The Blind Man” by Friedrich Dürrenmatt. Being skeptically adjusted to the Christianity, Dürrenmatt calls the readers and spectators into some questions of philosophical and theological character. The alienation effect served as a main theoretical idea when writing of that play for Dürrenmatt. In “The Blind Man” the author makes an attempt to distance exactly the scene of action, what transmits to the action of play itself further, and to its characters, too. In its turn that leads to the rise of the effect of the loss of the stage.
