PERCEPTION AND REVISION OF JANE AUSTEN’S NOVELS IN THE 2ND HALF OF THE XX – THE BEGINNING OF THE XXI CENTURIES (SCREENINGS, MASHUPS, FANFICS)

Abstract
Jane Austen’s novels are not only reedited nowadays, but also become basis for new works of art, which is a reliable proof of the fact, that their topics and problems are still modern and up-to-date. In the article there is a classification of modern works of art, which are based on the famous British writer’s novels. Also the terms “mashup” and “fanfic”are explained, which have gained popularity not only in the sphere of Internet-communication. These phenomena are characterized in detail, and a borderline is drawn between them, with mashups and fanfics to Austen’s works as examples.
