Abstract
The article reveals the interconnection of the large present and the moment of speech through knowledge of the speaker. Present continuous and gnomic combine experience of mankind (in the scientific field of physical knowledge and human opinions). Present usual and potential are quantitative and qualitative dimensions of re-petitive actions. Present of quality defines static status of a particular subject. The given work analyses opera-tion of each type, taking into account the subject’s nature, lexical-grammatical peculiarities of the predicate.
