Abstract
The article centres upon the lexical means of rendering implication in the tragicomedy “Trubinal” by A. Makayonak. Special attention is paid to some lexical (transfers of names, contextual antonyms) and phraseological (proper phraseological units, proverbs and curses) means. The cues as well as the stage directions are under analysis. The main character of the play is physically limited in his actions thus a recipient learns about his character, feelings, relations, intentions analyzing the semantic structure of the text and revealing what is hidden behind it. Such an approach to perceive the implicit information contributes to one’s better understanding of the text.
