Abstract
The article examines the main activities of the Polotsk Pedagogical Institute from 1953 to 1958, namely the organization of the educational process, personnel work, research work. The control and reporting documentation on the institute's activities is analyzed. The characteristics of the student body and the staff of the Institute in 1953–1958 are given.
