Abstract
The article presents the research results of the magnetic-pulse hardening treatment effect on changes in surface roughness of Ra parameter of knife samples from corrosion-resistant steel 40Х13, 65Х13, 12Х17. It is determined that the magnetic-pulse treatment at some modes enables to achieve a decrease of Ra parameter value down to 46% in comparison with original samples. The stresses in the skin layer of samples from corrosion-resistant steel are studied when a sinusoidal high-frequency current passes through them depending on the effect and number of pulse energy. The researches enable to determine the technological modes that improve physical and mechanical properties of samples. The efficiency of the magnetic-pulse treatment for increasing the cutting tool life from corrosion-resistant steel applied in the food industry is proven.
