THE INFLUENCE OF TECHNOLOGICAL PARAMETERS OF SPUTTERING AND ION NITRIDING ON MICROSTRUCTURE AND WEAR RESISTANCE OF GAS-THERMAL COATING OF HIGH CHROMIUM STEEL 95X18

Abstract
The influence of the parameters of the deposition and ion-beam nitriding on the structural-phase state, microhardness and tribological properties of gas-thermal coating development of high chromium steel 95X18 have been investigated. It is shown that as a result of ionic treatment for at 670…890 K on the surface of the coating formed modified nitrogen layers depth from 3…5 up to 15…20 microns. Ion treatment results in the formation on the surface coating of a solid solution γ'N -(Fe, Cr) and the allocation of CrN particles. In the process of tribological tests under dry friction in the surface layers of gas-thermal coating is the deformation-activated γ→α transformation, leading to a significant increase in the wear resistance and microhardness of the coating. It is shown that as a result of ion-beam nitriding microhardness of coatings from steel 95X18 increases in 1,7…2,5 times, and the wear resistance in 2,3…4,6 times compared to untreated coating.
