Abstract

Owing to the unique anion-exchange ability, layered double hydroxides are widely used in water treatment, in vivo drag delivery, active corrosion protection, and in many other applications. The main method of the layered double hydroxides preparation is a co-precipitation from solutions of salts of the respective metals followed by crystallization and anion exchange. This procedure does not require any strict conditions but is time-consuming. In the given work, ultrasonic vibrations have been applied at different stages of preparation of a cobalt-aluminium layered double hydroxides. It has been shown that a use of ultrasound allows to accelerate considerably the processes of crystallization and anion exchange. A mechanism of impact of ultrasound on these processes has been suggested.
