DEVELOPMENT OF HEAT TREATMENT CONDITIONS OF CHIPPING KNIVES MADE FROM VARIOUS TOOL STEELS
Main Article Content
Abstract
Experimental studies of heat treatment conditions of chipping knives made from various tool steels are demonstrated. It is found that in the samples of chipping knives with small dimensions and a relatively large thickness after heat treatment permanent deformation isn’t shown; in thinner samples of rectangular shape (with length of more than 300 mm) after such treatment there is permanent deformation in the form of the deflection. The smaller the ratio of the thickness of the sample to its length and width is the greater the amount of the deflection. It was determined that the samples made of steel 6HV2S have lesser amount of deflection than the samples of steel U8A and 9HF.
