Abstract
Road traffic accidents (RTAs) with victims account for only about 5% (!) of the total number of accidents, but, especially at pedestrian crossings, are characterised by high severity and correspondingly high values of accident losses1 [1; 2]. Thus, it is necessary to constantly assess the influence of the most significant factors and characteristics, such as traffic and pedestrian load, geometric parameters of the pedestrian crossing itself and others, most significantly affecting the accident rate, based on which to develop and implement the most effective measures. It is for this purpose that the article describes the mechanism for identifying such factors and characteristics, determined through a set of features provided by the modern version of the Statistica package.
