TECHNOLOGIES FOR WELDING DEFECTS IN CAST IRON ENGINE HOUSING PARTS

Abstract
The study presents a comprehensive method for restoring the housing parts of internal combustion engines, taking into account the peculiarities of their operational destruction. A classification of defects by localization zones has been developed, and a differentiated repair technology has been proposed for different types of damage. The effectiveness of a combined approach that combines mechanical processing, thermodiffusion saturation, and controlled welding has been experimentally confirmed, ensuring the restoration of operational characteristics to 92-95% of the original values. Modern methods for repairing cast iron housing parts of internal combustion engines have also been considered. A comparative analysis of various welding technologies, including gas, arc, and cold welding, has been conducted. An optimized repair method with preheating and subsequent heat treatment has been proposed, ensuring a joint strength of up to 95% of the original material.
