OPTIMAL DESIGN OF HINGE-BAR SYSTEMS

Abstract
The article deals with an analytical solution to the problem of optimal design of an arbitrary spatial statically determinate truss, which is considered to be a linearly deformable system. The problem is solved subject to the restrictions for the variables of the objective function of the bearing capacity and rigidity. It is believed that the constructional material of farm rods is equally resistant to tension-compression. A closed formula for determining the area of the transverse farm rods, where the weight of the farm takes its minimum value, has been obtained.
