Abstract
Wood-cutting knives made of 8X6HФT and 8XФ tool steels and hardened by their exposure to a pulsed magnetic field have undergone successful long-term production tests at different woodworking enterprises of the Republic of Belarus. As compared to analogous knives that had not been subjected to pulse magnetic processing they demonstrated increase in tool life by 1,5 times and up to 3 times when working oak and ash hard woods and pine, respectively. Thus, their implementation can be recommended for carrying out respective operations at woodworking enterprises of the Republic of Belarus.
