SOCIAL FACILITATION AS A FACTOR OF ENHANCING THE PROCESS OF ASSOCIATION EMERGENCE WHILE TEACHING STUDENTS A FOREIGN LANGUAGE

Abstract

The article deals with the phenomemon of social facilitation in the context of its usage in the process of teaching foreign languages. The definition of this psychological phenomemon is given, as well as research results in the sphere of social psychology aimed at studying the influence of social facilitation on the process of association emergence. Grounds for the expediency of this phenomenon extrapolation to the process of teaching students a foreign language are given. Definite methodical approaches are presented (folk arts analysis, information recoding, writing poems in the haiku genre, metaphorical emages creation, the stream of consciousness, style analysis) as well as the examples of their putting into teaching practice. The theoretical grounds for the expediency of social facilitation extrapolation to the process of teaching students a foreign language as a factor of enhancing association emergency are proved by experimental work results. The work was aimed at monological and dialogic speech skills development in the students of experimental groups.
