ANALYSIS OF THE STUDY OF THE LEVEL OF READING CULTURE OF STUDENT YOUTH: ON THE EXAMPLE OF THE CITY OF NAVOI AND THE NAVOI REGION

Abstract

A study of the level of decline in interest in reading among students of schools, lyceums, colleges and university students in Navoi region and Navoi city is presented. The reasons for the low interest in reading among various groups of respondents, the most popular literature, as well as the presence or absence of knowledge of foreign languages among university students were identified. The author proposes a number of measures to change the current situation in the region under study, among which the importance of developing interest in reading books from early childhood, as well as teaching schoolchildren the technique of fast reading, is especially emphasized.
