CONTEMPORARY ISSUES AND NEW DIRECTIONS IN THE FIELD OF APPLIED AND PROFESSIONAL ETHICS

Abstract

Intense wars, revolutions and the greatest scientific and technological advances of the twentieth century signaled the need to analyze the social and ethical dimensions of technological development. The huge social changes have necessitated the formation of a new application, professional areas in the field of moral philosophy. The rapid growth of modern technologies, including the NBIKS-technology, has secured a number of new development areas of applied and professional ethics. Particularly relevant and popular now: bioethics, environmental ethics, information ethics computer ethics, cyberethics, ethics of nuclear deterrence, machine ethics and many others. Meaningful research knowledge in the subsystem problems of morality in the second half of the twentieth century has become and engineering ethics. The formation of the new approaches is accompanied by a discussion on the necessity of further disciplinary organization as applied ethics in General and professional in particular their theories, concepts and methods.
