Abstract

The article is devoted to methodological and historical aspects of reductionism in interdisciplinary studies. On the basis of several possible typologies of interdisciplinary research and the kinds of reductionism paper shows the difference of the role and the causes of reductionism in classical and modern science, in particular, on the example of the concept of "Integration and Implementation Sciences ". In addition, the article discusses a problem of reductionism and holism. It is noted that the holism can not act as an independent research methodology as to create a holistic description of the system must be initially its reductionist description. In this sense, systematic and synergetic approach in modern methodology of science to a certain degree can apply for the removal of the antithesis of holism and reductionism. Along with the theoretical methodology of synthesis of the given oppositions Western researchers proposed also pragmatic-communicative strategies, for example, I2S.
