Abstract

The article provides information on the effectiveness of the author's individually oriented approach to determining the most promising way of wrestling and its further improvement in armwrestling. An experiment was conducted on the selection of promising athletes of various weight categories and their further specialization, taking into account individual anthropometric characteristics and strength abilities. The percentage content of armwrestlers' training modes used in the experiment is presented, methods are described for solving the problems of strength training. The dynamics of the parameters of anthropometry and strength testing for the control period of the pedagogical experiment is presented. The effectiveness of the author's individually-oriented approach was tested in comparison with the most popular approaches to sports specialization and further improvement of the chosen wrestling methods. The information on the terms required for the training of athletes of the highest sports categories in armwrestling from athletes of the initial level of preparedness was analyzed.
