Abstract

The article is devoted to the study of one of the new trends of modern reflexion - transhumanism. Courage of concepts and ideas offered by authors working in this direction makes it an object of close attention of philosophers and bioethics. In the process of research the author identifies in the article the main program ideas of this kind of philosophy and focuses on the analysis of one of the fundamental concepts of this direction – the concept of evolution. The author points out the specifics of the application of this concept in the work of authors belonging to this trend (Nick Bostrom, Natasha Vita-More, Max More), emphasizes the differences between the using of the concept of "directed evolution" in classical theories and in the reflection of transhumanists, points to the problematic nature of this concept using in the philosophy of transhumanism.
