Abstract

The article examines the main strategies for analyzing ideology in such an interdisciplinary approach as critical discourse analysis. Firstly, the author tries to describe the main ways of understanding ideology as the basis of social identity in the works of T. van Dijk and N. Fairclough. Secondly, the author of the article points out methodological peculiarities of the ideological analysis of speech practices, i.e. discourse, in this approach. In addition, the article discusses «analytical dualism» that characterizes critical discourse analysis and differs it from radically constructivist trends in discourse analysis.
