CULTURAL CONTEXT BYZANTINE HIGHER EDUCATION

Abstract

The specificity of the Byzantine development of higher education in which the dominant position held University of Constantinople. Activities of this university empire contributed to the preservation and transmis-sion of Byzantine cultural code, both within their own cultural dynamics of the Romans, and in the processes of cultural diffusion in Eastern and Western Europe. Experience of successful solutions in the dissemination of its own cultural code illustrates the critical Rolet higher education in support of the processes of inculturation of Byzantine civilization.
