Abstract
The article examines the characteristics of a good Language learner and considers motivation and predilection for languages very important. The latter includes having good ear, efficient revision, ability to work hard and monitor one’s own speech, self correction, gift to memorize both, speech acts and language rules, responsibility and independence. The most essential characteristics are hard work and viewing language as predestination, because they turn learners into active subjects of the learning process.
