Abstract

The artistic world view in Henry Vaughan’s lyrics is studied. Firstly attention is focused on the lyrical subject which is shown in the verses not like a holistic image but just like a point of view, which is needed in the texts to mark the subjectivity of perception. Further studies concern the specificity of time and space in Henr Vaughan’s artistic worldview. In his verses time and space are represented throught the point of view of the marked subject, that’s because they are somewhat abstract and nominal but at the same time they bear symbolical sense. Henry Vaughan’s semiotics is analyzed. The main components of his world are signs and so the world itself is nothing but text, but a very specific one. It does not have monosemantic perusal because its every element bears plenty of senses.
